Mr. Hurben runs a school in Fairbanks, Alaska.  He is a member of the Phoenix Group Promotion Board, an International Instructor, and a Class A Umpire.  He was the Chief Umpire at the 2012 Nationals.  He has been the most recent coach for the United States at the World Championships and his teams have been recognized as All-Around Jr. Boys’ team, All-Around Jr. team, and All-Around Country during his tenure as coach.  He has competed nationally and internationally and has earned 1 gold, 1 silver, and 1 bronze medal.  His students have earned various medals and awards in national and international championships, including All-Around Junior Champion male twice.
