The Phoenix Group is both proud and excited to welcome National Taekwon-Do Tupelo to the family. Mr. Matt Lepley will be opening the doors to his new school on January 3, 2019. What a fantastic way to start the New Year! Congratulations Mr. Lepely. The Phoenix Group and your students are lucky to have you as an instructor. Be patient, do what you know how to do, and you will be successful!
Matt began training in Taekwon-Do in 1994 and started competing seriously in 2009. He has competed all around the United States and internationally, including South Korea, Canada, Italy, England and Argentina. He has medaled at every ITF World Championship since 2010 and been selected as part of the 6-man Men's Team the past three World Championships. Most recently, Matt competed at the 2018 ITF World Championship in Argentina individually and as the captain of the USA Men's Team. The Men's Team acquired the highest medal count of any USA Men's Team in the past decade. In his hometown of Kansas City, he was an assistant instructor at National Taekwon-Do under Master Suzan Crochet and started his own Taekwon-Do program before moving to Tupelo, Mississippi. Additionally, Matt has taught Taekwon-Do workshops in Colombia, South America and assisted Taekwon-Do organizations in Ethiopia and Kenya as part of outreach opportunities. Taekwon-Do has played a major part in shaping who Matt is, both mentally and physically, and continues to be a source of growth. He is proud to spread the ITF style of Taekwon-Do and hopes to bring its benefits and ability to inspire to everyone he encounters.
Best of luck!
